Latino GLBT History Project (LHP) is seeking an individual to serve as its part-time program fellow. The position begins in April 2015 and concludes June 26, 2015. The program coordinator will have overall responsibility for the planning, management, and execution of Latino GLBT History Project major events, communications platforms, educational presentations, volunteer management, donor relations. The program coordinator will report to an active Board of Directors and coordinate a 35+ person planning committee organized into subcommittees. S/he will work closely with the Latino GLBT History Project board of directors and steering committee.  S/he will also work collaboratively with with LHP and community partners and volunteers to ensure a viable, relevant, and inclusive DC Latino Pride, Women’s History Reception, and Hispanic LGBTQ Heritage celebration for metro-DC LGBT Latino/a community and its allies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
The part-time fellow is responsible for the successful execution of Latino GLBT History Project related programs and events.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience. Seeking entry-level candidates.

Hours Required: An estimate of time commitment for the fellowship is as follows:

  • 15 hours a week for 4 weeks (April 3, April 17)
  • 20 hours a week for 6 weeks (May 1, May 15, May 29)
  • 38 hours a week for 2 weeks (June 12)
  • 20 hours a week for 2 weeks (June 26)

 Position Requirements – Candidate must:

  • Participate in all LHP-sponsored activities
  • Participate in community events on weekends as required
  • Comply with LHP policies regarding work performance and personal conduct

This position will work remotely, but will be required to check mail regularly and host planning meetings in shared spaces.
