Please join 100 LGBTQ Latinas, Latinos and ally movers and shakers from national and local non-profit, government and corporate sectors for our annual celebration of Hispanic Heritage and LGBTQ History months and a benefit for the Latino GLBT History Project. This event is an important opportunity to celebrate LBGTQ Latino activism, support the Latino GLBT History Project, reflect on our accomplishments over the past year and honor LGBTQ Latinos who have made outstanding contributions our movement.

A reception with hors d'oeuvres by QCaterers and entertainment will follow the awards ceremony honoring our LGBTQ Latino leaders featuring emcee Maria Cardona, CNN Contributor. The evening will include a preview of new inductees into LHP's Héroes Latinos LGBTQ photo exhibit. The event co-chair is Jeremiah Perez, Associate, Latinovations, Dewey Square Group.

LHP Community Celebration & Hispanic Heritage Month Kick-Off

The Latino GLBT History Project will host the breathtaking Héroes Latinos LGBTQ exhibition, which showcases 30 LGBTQ Latino/a community members through black and white photographs by Kevin Kenner and their brief biographies. The exhibit will be on display from September 15 to October 15, 2013 at the Mt. Pleasant Neighborhood Library, 3160 16th St. NW, Washington, DC. For library hours go to www.dclibrary.org/mtpleasant.

LHP exhibit co-chairs LHP Vice President Esther Hidalgo and LHP Founder Jose Gutierrez invite you to join us for an opening reception on September 18th with light appetizers, good company and special remarks by community leaders. This is a free event and is open to all members of the community.
